Union County utilities are serviced by a number of different providers throughout the County. This diversity allows Union County to ensure that the needs of both industry and local communities are met.
Electric needs in the County are met by three major providers:
- Duke Energy
- City of Monroe (as a part of Electricities)
- Union Power Cooperative (as a part of Touchstone Energy)
A small portion of southeast Union County receives service from Pee Dee Electric Cooperative.
Natural gas providers include:
- Piedmont Natural Gas
- City of Monroe
Water and Wastewater
Water and wastewater services are primarily provided by the County. The City of Monroe, Town of Marshville and Town of Wingate also provide services to their citizens.
