The mission of the Small Business Center Network (SBCN) is to increase the success rate and the number of viable small businesses in North Carolina by providing high quality, readily accessible assistance to prospective and existing small business owners, which will lead to job creation and retention. With one location at each North Carolina community college, the 58 Small Business Centers (SBCs) are community-based providers and entrepreneurship training, confidential one-on-one business counseling, referral, and information.
The North Carolina SBTDC is a business advisory resource for growing and developing businesses. The SBTDC's highly skilled professionals provide services statewide from offices hosted by campuses of The University of North Carolina System. The SBTDC operates in formal partnership with the U.S. Small Business Administration, Defense Logistics Agency and others, making it a unique and valued asset in the economic development infrastructure of North Carolina.
Established in 1965, the chapter has been a vital part of the Charlotte entrepreneurial community. We provide free one on one mentoring in the greater Charlotte area. The chapter offers free one on one mentoring, low cost or free workshops, and access to free on line tools and webinars. SCORE teams provide counseling designed to assist your business to:
- Increase the value of the business by growing sales, earnings, and cash flows
- Identify and solve operating problems
- Develop business plans'
- Access to funding
- Assist non-profits ain formation and in improving their operations
